Couples therapy in Midtown Manhattan and online

It's the same fight. Different night, different trigger, same fight. One of you pushes, the other goes quiet, and you both go to bed feeling unheard.

You don't have to be on the edge of breaking up to get help. Most couples we see love each other and are just stuck. We help partners talk to each other again, in our Midtown Manhattan office or online.

What brings couples in

  • Arguments that loop without ever getting resolved
  • One of you wants to talk, the other shuts down
  • Feeling more like roommates or co-managers than partners
  • Rebuilding trust after a betrayal
  • Big transitions: moving in, getting married, a new baby, a career change
  • Different ideas about money, family, sex or the future
  • Not sure whether to stay, and wanting to decide with clear heads
  • Wanting a strong start before marriage

How couples therapy works here

The first sessions are about understanding the two of you: how you met, where things got hard, and what each of you wants. From there, your therapist helps you spot the pattern you keep falling into and practice a different way through it, in the room, with support.

It's practical. You'll leave sessions with things to try at home, not just insight. And no one is there to pick a winner.

In person or online

Midtown Manhattan: a quiet office a short walk from Grand Central and Bryant Park.

Online: secure video sessions. When you can, we recommend joining from the same room. When you can't, online sessions make room for tricky schedules and long-distance couples, as long as you're both in a state where your therapist is licensed.

Couples therapy FAQ

Do you use the Gottman Method?

Yes. Several of our couples therapists, including Micaela Schiff and Leor Wasser, are trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to how couples argue, repair and stay connected. Others draw on Gottman ideas alongside other approaches, so we'll match you based on what you need.

What if my partner isn't sure about therapy?

That's common. A free consultation is a low-pressure way to see what it's like. Some people also start individual therapy first, and that can help too.

Can we do couples therapy online?

Yes. We recommend joining from the same place when you can. Online sessions also make room for busy or mismatched schedules, so both of you can take part, and they work well for long-distance couples. You'll both need to be in a state where your therapist is licensed.

How long does couples therapy take?

It depends on what you're working on. We'll talk about your goals in the first few sessions and check in on progress along the way.

Do you see couples of all kinds?

Yes. Married or not, any gender, any stage of a relationship.

Can I use my insurance?

Many of our clients use out-of-network benefits, and we provide monthly superbills to make reimbursement easier. We're in network with Northwell Direct, and some of our therapists are in network with other plans. We'll help you figure out your options during your free consultation.
