Resilience is often misunderstood as being stoic through relentlessly hard times. Yet, research in child development offers us a far more compassionate perspective: the foundation for resilience begins with at least one emotionally available caregiver.
This truth extends across our lifespans: the more emotionally attuned people we have in our lives who can co-regulate us and hold space for our feelings, the greater our capacity for growth.Over time, this internal work helps us cultivate a rooted sense of self and an ability to navigate life’s storms with clarity and connection.
Josie embodies this truth in her personal and professional life. With dual training in the U.S. and U.K., she brings a rich understanding of trauma, addiction recovery, and family systems to her work with adults and emerging adults. Her approach is both integrative and relational, blending psychodynamic and Jungian theory with evidence-based modalities like CBT, DBT, and sensorimotor techniques to support mind-body awareness and lasting change.
As an educator and clinician, Josie helps clients uncover the origins of emotional patterns, develop self-awareness, and build resilience through curiosity and compassion. Having lived internationally, Josie adapts her approach to her clients’ outlook and is mindful of cultural contexts, bias and influences.
Working with Josie is a process of discovery, of recognizing your true worth and unearthing your potential.
